This elk was nibbling on our Aspen trees on the Carriage House property. He was keeping a close eye on me while trying to get his snack.

Sept. 20, 2009- I have decided to write about our area and what has been going on at Annies Mountain Retreat. Summer is winding down and we are starting to see the FALL COLORS on the trees. The elk are in their Rutt which is awesome to see the Big Bulls try and keep a "harem" of cows together. It is hard enough to control one women.......you may say.......well try 10 or more. He gets quite the exercise from just keeping them in a general area

Sept. 21, 2009-   

This picture was actually taken in May of this year but I wanted to share with you one of the views you can see if hiking into RMNP from the Carriage House unit. The dog is ours. His name is Bailey and he is a Bernese Mountain Dog. We just had a light snow today and the Mountains got a dusting of snow..........brrrrr......winter is coming!.....but we still have good weather coming again soon. .

Hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park - There are over 355 miles of hiking trails to take in the beauty of the Park. There is everything for the beginner and up to the most advanced hiker. The scenery is something that you will remember forever but bring your camera to share with those back home.

Dec. 4, 2009- Wow....I havent written lately. We have some new additions that we are so excited about. In the Mountain Cabin we added a flat screen tv with built in DVD Player and a new fireplace in the bedroom.

In the River Cabin we added a flat screen tv with a built in DVD Player in the bedroom. Just today (Dec 4th) we have a new flat screen TV in the living room and a new fireplace.
